The Indian Women’s Team is all set to play their 9th Asia Cup Final against Sri Lanka at the Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium on Sunday, July 28. The final match of the tournament will begin at 3:00 PM IST.
The Women’s Asia Cup 2024 began on July 19 with a match between Nepal and The United Arab Emirates (UAE) at the Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium. The tournament began with eight teams split into two groups of four. The top two teams from each group have a faceoff in the semifinals.
In the first semifinal on July 26, between India and Bangladesh, India smashed Bangladesh, winning by 10 wickets. The Captain of Bangladesh Nigar Sultana won the toss and elected to bat. Bowling first, India restricted Bangladesh to 80-8 in 20 overs, then chased down the target in 11 overs. The second semifinal was a closer contest, with Sri Lanka edging out Pakistan by three wickets while chasing a target of 141.
