India vs Sri Lanka, 1st T20 highlights: Surya Kumar Yadav, India’s new T20I captain smashed a sensational fifty against Sri Lanka in the first match of the three-match series at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium on Saturday. He scored 58 runs off 26 balls, India posted a total of 213 for 7 in their 20 overs.
The Indian team got off to a quick start with an opening partnership of 74 runs in 6 overs between Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill. The cameo of Rishabh Pant also helped the team’s cause missing another half-century with a fine knock of 49 off 33 balls.
Despite Pathum Nissanka’s 79 off 48 balls and Kusal Mendis’s 45 off 27 balls, Sri Lanka’s entire innings collapsed for 170 runs in 19.2 overs. Apart from these two players, no other player managed to score more than 20 runs.
